Kiwifruits, also known as kiwis, are native to Southern China but are now grown around the world with a fresh fruity flavor that’s a cross between bananas, strawberries and pineapple. Kiwifruits are rich in vitamins A, C and E, and their black seeds, when crushed or chewed, are an excellent source of beneficial Omega-3 fatty acids.

Fresh Banana Cilantro Dressing Picture Book Recipe
Yep, you bet! Bananas and cilantro together in a dressing – and it goes great on salads, over cooked vegetables – any way you’d use any other dressing.
The hardest part of making this dressing is peeling the skins off fresh garlic cloves – always a pain, though crushing the cloves first by pressing them under the side of a wide-bladed (chef’s) knife as shown here…
Kale Teriyaki Picture Book Recipe
Dig kale? I didn’t until only a few years ago, but now I’m a big fan, especially when it’s made the way you see here!
Nutritionally, kale rates highest along with collard, turnip, and mustard greens, Swiss chard, and upland watercress with a score of 1000 on the Read more »
Oven Roasted Butternut Squash Picture Book Recipe
The toughest part about roasting butternut squash, if you want it in cubed shaped pieces the way you see above, is removing the outer skin as shown in the picture below. After removing the skin (I recommend using a tougher vegetable peeler than the weak and worthless one you see here), roasting is the easiest, most flavorful way I know to prepare butternut squash.

Fresh Garlic Ginger Salad Dressing Picture Book Recipe
Not too long ago, I showed how to grate or chop fresh ginger and then how to make a fresh low-fat kefir salad dressing packed not only with full-on flavor but also packed with anti-inflammatory ingredients that included ground turmeric, mustard, apple cider vinegar, ground flaxseeds, ground black pepper, and honey. Great stuff!
The fresh garlic ginger salad dressing you see here is a little twist on the fresh low-fat kefir salad dressing in that it substitutes kefir (a fermented milk, yogurt-like drink that’s packed with beneficial – or good for you – bacteria) with olive oil and also adds freshly chopped cilantro.
Here are the ingredients you need to make fresh garlic ginger salad dressing.

Microwave Beans Alfredo Fusion: Full-On Flavor and All in Pictures
I’m a big fusion fan! Here’s a fully flavorful, richly nutritious, and very easy to make recipe that came to mind while ripping it on a gorgeously colorful fall bike ride the other day that combines – or fuses – the Italian creamy Parmesan cheese flavor of a modified (less fat, lower calorie) Alfredo sauce with the richly flavorful and nutritious Latin American staples of kidney beans, cilantro, avocado, and tomato.
Here’s a picture of what you need to make a bowl of microwave cooked beans Alfredo fusion.
Crisp Corn and Bell Pepper Salad – All in Pictures
Last two posts showed how to cook corn on the stove and in the microwave oven. Easy. Here’s a great way to combine the crisp sweetness of corn with bell pepper (I like using red, yellow, or orange bell pepper for this because they’re sweeter and more flavorful than green bell peppers), onion, garlic, and cilantro. Terrific combination!
Here’s what you need to make this crisp corn and bell pepper salad for 3-4 people.

Bananas Are Good Food!
I’m sure you’ve seen those ads like this…
…that appear or pop up (annoyingly) when you pull up a recipe or just about any resource regarding health, diet, or nutrition on the Internet. For some reason – and I haven’t yet found one that makes any sense even though I’ve sure been duped into believing temporarily that bananas just might be an unhealthy food – bananas have been given an unfairly deserved bad rap. Having said that, though, bananas are one of the most consumed foods in the world and, in the U.S., are eaten more than apples and oranges combined. That alone is a good sign that common sense does sometimes – very appropriately – rule the day. Read more »
