Better Eating to Stay in Shape When You’re on the Road

I’ve laid down a couple posts recently about how to make fully flavorful, energy-sustaining instant hot cereal from cold cereal and how to take that instant hot cereal from simple to exciting when you’re at home.

But what if you’re on the road for either work or fun and have no choice but to eat out for meals?

I know and just lived the deal while attending Magic Las Vegas 2018 (4-day clothing manufacturing & branding trade show).

For breakfast the first day (Roxy’s Diner at the Stratosphere Hotel/Casino) I had a bowl of fresh blueberries smothered in vanilla yogurt and topped with granola. Blueberries were great. The yogurt and granola were packed with sugar – not what I needed.

Next three breakfasts I had the oatmeal platter you see at the top of the page that came with brown sugar and honey optional. Great! I used some of the honey and sure ate all the fresh fruit and nuts. Those breakfasts, along with a good shot of coffee, sure kept me powered for long but fast, interesting days on my feet that I supplemented only with fresh fruit for lunch right at that show.

Bottom line: you can eat better on the road if you just look over your choices carefully and try to stick closest to the foods you know keep you in good shape at home.

Travel on!
