One of my favorite summer foods is freshly picked, richly flavorful, no-kidding vine ripened tomatoes, which I always look forward to getting get straight off the field at Berberian’s Farm in Northborough, MA.
I’m a big fan of their #2 tomatoes shown below for a lot of reasons: GREAT TASTE! and no waste are the top two.
One of my favorite ways to enjoy those tomatoes is in a fantastically flavorful and easy to make salad made with fresh basil (also from Berberian’s), mozzarella cheese, olive oil, a little salt, a good crunch of ground black pepper and, of course, a good shot of balsamic vinegar as shown in the ingredients picture below.
