And if you do try it, here’s something very cool to make: Harvest Grains with Pickled Pork Alfredo. if you don’t have pickled pork on hand or don’t even want to make it yet, you can substitute any kind of leftover meat, chicken or fish. The same goes for Harvest Grains, which are a mix of Israeli couscous, baby garbanzo beans and red quinoa and can be substituted with rice, pasta or even quinoa. Easy!

Ingredients (for 2-4)
- Cooked Pickled Pork
- Harvest Grains
- 12-Ounce Can of Evaporated Milk
- Grated or Shredded Parmesan Cheese
- 2-3 Handfuls Dried Fruit (I’m using pitted prunes, figs and dried cranberries, but any dried
- fruit will work)
- Ground Black Pepper
- Sweet Vermouth (optional, but rounds out the flavor)

- Medium Sized Pot with a Top
- Measuring Cup
- Large Sharp (Chef’s) Knife
- Cutting Board
- Can Opener
- Fork
- Tablespoon
- Timer
